The server's now up again; it was switched off at 20:06 GMT and back on 00:43.
So about five hours. (I didn't have any say or control at all in all this.)
Interestingly, this conforms to my First Rule of Data-Centre Visits,
"However long you think it'll take, multiply that by about five"
