From paulm at paulm.com Fri Feb 11 10:04:09 2011 From: paulm at paulm.com (Paul Makepeace) Date: Fri, 11 Feb 2011 10:04:09 +0000 Subject: [realprogrammers hosting] Minor change to lists Message-ID: Hi all, I'm making some minor changes to the lists hosted here in a bid to reduce the load on both of us from spammers posting to lists and them being sent a rejection notice or the spam ending up in a moderation queue. One list I just went through had over 34,000 moderated messages(!) The change is to discard non-member posts without notice. This isn't ideal but I think it's the best compromise. If you feel you'd prefer NOT to have this change, e.g., you're on top of your moderation queue etc, let me know and I'll change your list right back (or you can do it yourself through the interface). You can find it under "Privacy options" -> "Sender filters" -> "Action to take for postings from non-members for which no explicit action is defined." Cheers, Paul
