Hi folks,
Another infrequent bulletin from realprogrammers.com...
I have just completed a substantial mail server software & hardware
upgrade. While I've taken pains to transition it carefully please keep
an eye out and let me know if you notice anything odd.
One thing I do hope folks notice, especially those of you with old email
addresses getting spammed heavily, is a BIG reduction in junk mail. Two
new techniques are now in effect: URI blocklisting, and greylisting.
The former looks for presence of "spamvertised" domains in the email
from a list that is updated in real-time, the latter temporarily rejects
mails that look like spam. "Real" mail servers will retry the mail later
(and be allowed to deliver here) whereas spam mail servers generally
give up after the first try and move on; for them it's a numbers game.

All feedback gratefully received!
Cheers, Paul
